Campus Dining introduces new apps, menus and markets.

Welcome back! Soon you'll spend less time waiting for your food and more time doing the things you want - like studying or catching up with friends - with Tapingo. It's a food ordering app (not appetizer) that Campus Dining is excited to offer students, faculty and staff that allows customers to skip the line and have their food waiting for them. Tapingo is coming later this quarter. Campus Dining has also updated their menus to highlight more healthy options. And after many construction delays, we are beginning to build out Grand Avenue Market, located in the new yakʔitʸutʸu neighborhood. It will feature convenience items, made-to-order meals as well as take-and-heat options, and is slated to open this spring.

Chef’s Table

Returning October 9, and every other Wednesday after, outside 805 Kitchen in the University Union a Campus Dining chef will showcase their culinary mettle with a dish of their own design. Past Chef’s Tables have included tasty wild mushroom risotto, southwestern sandwiches and Chinese hot pots.

Can’t boil an egg? Don’t know the difference between blanching and braising? No worries. Campus Dining along with Cal Poly University Housing has put together a series of one-hour cooking lessons for the culinary challenged.

Choose Well Ambassador

Some healthy food choices are obvious, others, not so much. The Choose Well Ambassadors, the students in the green blazers, are here to help. They can point you in the direction of the healthy options at 805 Kitchen, The Ave and Campus Market during lunch and dinner.

Faculty and Staff Mixer

Mix and mingle with your colleagues on the first and third Thursday of every month at Myron’s. Enjoy scrumptious appetizers, refreshing beverages and two glasses of wine or beer for $6.50. Along with tasting and mingling, there will be giveaways and more.

Parents Eat Free!

Hey Parents! The next time you visit your student, dine with us at 805 Kitchen for free! This program applies only to parents excluding siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives or friends and is in effect from the first day of fall classes through Friday of Spring Quarter finals. The parent and student must dine together to participate in the Parents Eat Free program.
