It’s a new year, and Campus Dining is ready. Fall quarter saw a number of new safety protocols put into action. We got pretty good at physical distancing, adapted to new testing requirements and we all leveled up on Grubhub. This quarter Campus Dining is stepping up our gastronomic game. We’re introducing a new menu of monthly specials. Think of it as a rotating up-ticket premium meal with a fun theme. We’re also helping you step up your cooking game with a new, completely virtual teaching kitchen. What’s Cookin’, Mustangs gives everyone a chance to take a class with Campus Dining’s executive chefs. It’s a new year, and we’re more than ready.
Guided by the university, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local public health authorities, Campus Dining has made a number of changes including curbside pickup, modified dining rooms, deep cleaning each hour, employee wellness checks, contactless catering, and reinforcing food safety standards for preparation and service.

For all students, faculty and staff still on campus, we are asking that you use Grubhub to help us de-densify venues and create a contactless order. Here’s how it works. Download the app, choose Cal Poly as your campus, order and pay for your food (Grubhub takes credit cards and dining dollars) and enjoy your meal without the wait.

Every Thursday and Friday the courtyard at Canyon Café is home to Campus Dining’s Pop-Up food series, where a different SLO county chef or restaurant is featured and given the chance to introduce the Cal Poly community to a special gastronomic experience.

Cal Poly-branded tumblers save time, money, and most importantly, keep thousands of single-use cups from ending up in landfills. Embedded with a chip, the tumblers can be loaded with up to 20 pre-purchased drinks, then simply scanned at the beverage station. They are available for purchase at Campus Market and Vista Grande.

Superfoods are back and taking more of a starring role throughout Campus Dining venues. Each month a different nutritionally-dense and good-for-your-health food will show up in new recipes across campus. A free tasting event happens once a month.
