New for the 2020-21 academic year, Campus Dining is offering reusable tumblers that will help increase convenience, safety and sustainability on campus. These Cal Poly-branded cups are embedded with an RFID chip that allows them to be preloaded with up to 20 pre-purchased drinks. Users simply scan their cup at the beverage station.
For freshman on a dining plan, these attractive tumblers are free and can be linked to their account for quick and easy fills. For other students, faculty and staff, they are available for $8.50 and come with five fills (in other words, buy five drinks and get the cup for free). Each additional refill comes at a 10% discount. You will find the Cal Poly reusable tumblers at Campus Market and the Vista Grande Dining Complex.
The simple practice of reusable cups will help Campus Dining keep thousands of single-use cups out of landfills and helps us lower our environmental footprint. See more about our commitment to sustainability at calpolydining.com/sustainability/.
On top of the sustainability and convenience of the new tumblers, students can keep them clean using our countertop sanitizer, enhancing health and safety. The sanitizer units use ultraviolet light to inactivate 99.99 percent of viruses and bacteria harmful to humans, in 20 seconds or less. The countertop sanitizer will be available on the first and second floor of the Vista Grande Dining Complex and in Campus Market, next to the self-service beverage fountains.
